I was wondering if anybody has any experience with doing ChIP on small numbers of sorted cells. I want to do a ChIP experiment  on sorted cells, but I can only get about 1x106 of them. The ChIP protocols generally suggest using 10x106 cells, but is it possible to do ChIP with less cells?

i have the experience of ChIP-chip to sorted cells , i think whether the success of your ChIP-chip maybe decided by the expression level of your cared transcription factor and the quality of your Ab.Perhaps , the pool of your several samples is a good choice. GOOD LUCK

In our experience, people have done ChIP successfully with a million cells, provided that the immunoprecipitates can be amplified successfully to the microgram range and good enrichment can be maintained after amplification. It depends on the individual antibody and frquency of binding sites among other things.
